POWER FACTOR Explained
Power Factor is the percentage of wasted power running through your lines with in your building. On your hydro bill you will see your PF as a %. If your PF is under 90% you get penalized by your utility and pay a higher rate as you wasting excessive power being provided. Think of a pint of beer, the beer is the electricity and the foam is the Power Factor, you pay for it all but the foam (PF) is waste.
